Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga classes focus on correctly aligning the body to improve general posture, breathing and circulation. The classes flow steadily giving you time to slow down, tune inward and develop awareness.

Hatha yoga is a generic term that refers to any type of yoga that teaches physical postures. Nearly every type of yoga class is derived from Hatha, however is most often used to describe a slower-paced class. My classes aim to be accessible and inclusive. I am happy to adapt and modify the poses for injuries and to suit the quirks of our different. My aim is that everyone is able to develop their own yoga practice. This style of yoga is suitable for all levels. Hatha Yoga can help to

* Improve your posture * Build strength and flexibility * Develop awareness and control of your breath * Boost your circulation * Learn relaxation techniques * Improve the quality of your sleep * Lift your energy levels * Enhance feelings of wellbeing * Become better able to switch off from the stresses of daily life.

Meditation and Pranayama (breathing): The class begins with meditation and breath work to focus the mind and create space for moving. Warm Up: A series of gentle movements to mobilise the body. The Asanas (Poses): The practice continues with a series of strengthening and stretching poses held for 5 to 10 breaths. We will build on the poses each week. Savasana (relaxation): The class ends with a silent or guided savasana.
